How to Add More Fonts to Imagick にフォントを追加する方法

 Imagickは強力な文字表示・加工機能はありますが、いかんせんImagickにあるデフォルトのフォントはあまりません。それで、以下のスクリプトで自分が用意したフォントをImagickに認識させられます。
 使い方はスクリプトの使い方に書かれる通りで、まず以下のコマンドでフォントのリストを記述するXMLファイルを生成します。"/mydir/"はフォントの所在ディレクトリです。 find /mydir/ -name '*.ttf' | imagick_type_gen -f - > ~/.magick/type-myfonts.xml  次に、同「/.magick/」のしたにある、「type.xml」に、以下のようにそのXMLファイルを追加します。

これで目出度く自分のフォントをImagickに認識してもらえるようになります。
 因みに、無料フォントは以下のリンクからダウンロードできます。特にUTF8フォントの場合、glyphsまで定義されていないと、?と表示されてしまいます。よって、漢字の場合は、必ずglyphsが定義されていないフォントを探してくる必要があります。
 補足ですが、上記のスクリプトに「*.ttf」と記してありますが、ttcも同様に登録できます。ttcファイルはいくつかのttfをまとめて1つのファイルにしたものですので、基本的にTTFファイルと同じように使えます。
 もう一つ、Imagickのシステムフォントを定義する場所は「/etc/ImageMagick-6/」の「type.html」にあります。「-6」はバージョンによって変わります。
