The tragedy of Titan Submersive

There is no humanity, only human money.

The tragedy here is not the death of some rich or famous people, but the stupidity, irresponsibility, arrogance, ignorance,  greed, prejudice, discrimination of human being.

Speaking to 60 Minutes Australia, submarine operator Karl Stanley said he had warned his friend about the dangers of the craft.
"He definitely knew it was going to end like this. He quite literally and figuratively went out with the biggest bang in human history that you could go out with," he said.
"He was the last person to murder two billionaires at once, and have them pay for the privilege."

「Martín told Spanish news outlet Nius: "The submersible was descending smoothly until it reached an altitude of approximately 5,577 feet (1,700 meters). At that point, an electrical failure occurred, leaving it without an engine and propulsion. This loss of communication with the Polar Prince, the support vessel, marked a turning point in the tragic event."」

Mom says son took her seat on Titan, hoped to set Rubik's Cube record aboard the submersible。

「A medical expert said that the implosion would likely leave no recoverable remains.
"There would be virtually nothing," Aileen Marty, a disaster medicine expert at Florida International University, told CNN's Anderson Cooper. "They’re very unlikely to find anything there of human tissue."」

「In a post shared to his Twitter, the Serendipity actor tweeted: "I like the adventure spirit - but if someone dies climbing Mount Everest - it doesn't seem tragic to me - sad yes - but tragic to me is when innocent people die who had no choice."
As per Mirror.co.uk, he went on to retweet a story of how the men on the Titan submersible had been getting "wall-to-wall coverage" while the news that 700 people had died after sinking off the coast of Greece had been forgotten.
John added above the retweet: "If only - we cared about all human beings as much as we cared about wealthy ones."」

「Boeing said in a statement Wednesday it was not a partner in the construction of the Titan, despite a 2021 news release from OceanGate listing the aerospace company as a “partner” that provided “design and engineering support.”」

「In messages seen by the BBC, Rob McCallum told OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush that he was potentially putting his clients at risk and urged him to stop using the sub until it had been certified by an independent agency.
Mr Rush responded that he was "tired of industry players who try to use a safety argument to stop innovation".」

As Titan sub stirs global interest, many draw attention to hundreds of migrants missing at sea。

「The Titan submersible tragedy spotlights the issues around rescue operations and government oversight as an increasing number of wealthy thrill seekers undertake risky adventures and expeditions.」

「Guillermo Söhnlein, who co-founded OceanGate with Rush in 2009, said Rush was "keenly aware" of the dangers of exploring the ocean depths.
"Stockton was one of the most astute risk managers I'd ever met," said Söhnlein, who left the company in 2013, retaining a minority stake. "He was very risk-averse."」

「As they puffed their Cuban cigars on the back deck of the submersible’s mother ship, the Canadian research ship Polar Prince, the night before the scheduled dive, Weissmann said Rush told him how he had gotten the carbon fiber used to make the Titan “at a big discount from Boeing.” Weissmann wrote in Travel Weekly that Rush said he was able to get the carbon fiber at a good rate “because it was past its shelf life for use in airplanes.”
Rush had hailed the lighter carbon fiber as an innovation in a field that has long relied on more expensive titanium and claimed the company had worked with Boeing to make sure the pressure vessel, the carbon-fiber tube that keeps passengers alive, was safe. But the carbon fiber and the shape of the Titan had raised concern among maritime regulation experts and experienced mariners. And Weissmann said he felt that the man who he thought was going to lead him on a 13,000-foot dive to the ocean floor came off as “cocky” when talking about safety.
“I responded right away, saying, ‘Don’t you have any concerns about that?’” Weissmann, 69, recalled to The Washington Post. “He was very dismissive and said: ‘No, it’s perfectly fine. Having all these certifications for airplanes is one thing, but the carbon fiber was perfectly sound.’”
Weissmann added, “I think if I had known everything I know today, I would not have gone. It’s so sad that this aspect of his character is how I think people will ultimately judge him, but it is certainly right that he needs to be held accountable for his actions.”」

These secret US Navy underwater microphones built to detect Soviet submarines may be what caught the sounds of the Titan submersible imploding。

How much did Titan search cost? US Coast Guard's bill alone will be in the millions, experts say

Commentary: As those aboard the Titan submersible suffered, social media laughed

The Titan submersible imploded, killing all 5 on board, the US Coast Guard says。「The sliver of hope that remained for finding the five men alive was wiped away early Thursday, when the submersible’s 96-hour supply of oxygen was expected to run out and the Coast Guard announced that debris had been found roughly 1,600 feet (488 meters) from the Titanic in North Atlantic waters.」

officials on Thursday announced that the craft suffered a catastrophic implosion, killing all five aboard.
That anomaly was "consistent with an implosion or explosion in the general vicinity of where the TITAN submersible was operating when communications were lost," according to a senior Navy official.」

(6/22)These 5 vessels are key to the search for the Titan submersible。

A search is underway for a missing submersible that brings tourists to the Titanic。25万ドルもするツアーだが、「In fact, the vessels rarely make it to the Titanic, despite the expensive price tag, according to Pogue.」
