バードウォーチング情報集－Bird Watching in Japan

There are as many birding population as anywhere in the world.
Below are some sites maintained by enthusiastic birders.

• SONGPOST: birding spots in Tokyo.
• BIRD FAN: a site maintained by Wild Bird Society of Japan, with over 4000 pictures of 375 species.
• BIRDER Japan: many information about birding spots, accomondation, book etc.
• Yachoo!: photo gallery with about 2800 shots of 552 species.
• Ryugasaki Bird Watching: birding at Ryugasaki City of Ibaragi Prefecture.

Wild Bird Society of Japan , the non-profit organization in Japan, also provides some basic birding information, especially in the link of Bird FAN.

日本、特に関東付近におけるバードウォーチング情報集です。

都会は、木や緑は少ないのと、排気ガスや騒音などのせいで、あまり鳥の生息に向きません。バードウォーチング・ファンにとっては、遠出しないと、沢山の種類の鳥を見ることができません。

それでも、都内からそう遠くないところにはいくつかバードウォーチングできる場所があります。

谷津干潟公園は千葉県習志野市にある泥質の干潟です。シギ科、チドリ科、ウイナ科、カイツムリ科、カラス科、カワセミ科、ガンカモ科、カモメ科、サギ科、ウ科、ヒタキ科ウグイス亜科、ヒタキ科ツグミ亜科、セキレイ科、ハタオリドリ科、ハト科、ハヤブサ科、ヒヨドリ科、ムクドリ科、モズ科などの鳥は見られるようです。都心からやや遠いですが、無料です。お度ずれた際の体験はこちらです。

東京港野鳥公園は、都心から至近の距離にあり、ウォーキングのコースも多数あります。入場料が300円ですが、無料である谷津干潟公園に比較すると、観察小屋に望遠鏡と三脚代わりのカメラ台が整備されていることを考えると、リーズナブルでしょう。

葛西臨海公園・鳥類園は上記の二か所ほど写真撮影向きではないが、野鳥のためのサンクチュアリということで、野鳥を含む自然の観察にはとても楽しいところです。

行徳野鳥観察舎は無料の施設でありながら、望遠鏡44台も設置されている本格的なバードウォーチング・スポットです。人の利用は最小限にとどめられていますので、自由度は少ないほうでもあります。訪問記はこちらです。

軽井沢野鳥の森は「1974年に、全国で初めて国設の野鳥の森として指定された所で、かつては日本三大野鳥生息地と言われたところです」（公式サイト引用）。上記の水鳥中心のッスポットと違い、特に夏などの季節においては、鳥を観察するのはそう楽ではないです。その代わり、自然環境にありますので、ハイキングを兼ねて、自然を堪能できます。

光が丘公園バードサンクチュアリ：「バードサンクチュアリは面積2.4haの保全区域。人間が入れるのは一角にある観察舎に限られています。　観察舎は土・日曜日と祝日に公開されて、備え付けの望遠鏡でバードウォッチングを楽しむことができます。　小さな緑地ですが、自然環境が失われた都会では、野生の生きものに貴重なすみかを提供しているかけがえのない場所です。渡り鳥の中継地、繁殖や越冬の場として、年間約60種の鳥類が確認されています。」（公式ホームページ）

バス路線図・時刻表

バスは便利ですが、本格的に使おうと思うと、意外と分かりにくいです。どこに何のバスがあり、どこまでいけるかなどは、なかなか分かりません。

東京都にあるバスならば、東京都交通局のホームページで、いろいろと役立つ情報を見付けられます。同ホームページでは、品川、渋谷、新宿、池袋、上野、浅草、錦糸町、亀戸、東京夢の下町バスなどのエリア別のバス路線図をダウンロードできます。

fugutaさんが作成された「一般路線バス」は、全国都道府県の路線バスをまとめてあります。そのｷｬｯｼｭは以下にあります（2012年2月21日現在）。

北海道・東北、関東、甲信越・北陸、東海、近畿、中国、四国、九州、沖縄

NAVITIME社の「バス時刻表」では、全国のバス時刻表を調べられます。
東京バス案内WEBでは、東京における一般路線バス、高速バス、深夜急行バス、空港連絡バス、貸切バスなどの情報を調べられます。一般路線バスについては、停留所名、ターミナル駅、住所、施設と地図などからバスの路線を検索でします。他の種類のバスについても、地方と県名で検索できます。

ekitan(路線バスの時刻表）では、首都圏、関西、東北、九州について、バス会社とバス停名でバス停の時刻表を検索できます。

会社別では、西武バス、国際航業バス、小田急バス、東急バス、横浜市営バス、阪急バス、京王電鉄、京浜急行バス、千葉＆葛飾路線バス、新潟交通バス、関東バス、三重交通バス、旭川バスなどの専用サイトがあります。

Banking in the United States

When one tries to open an account in a bank, in the United States, the first question might be: which is a safer one? There might be many criteria to answer that, but ranking can be a quick reference.
The New York Job Source has The Largest Banks in the U.S., also Largest Bank Holding Companies in the U.S.
If the bank of interest is not even among the top 50, or if one wants to look for a bank in certain states, Yennik Inc. gives an comprehensive list of "US Banks on the Internet". usbankslist.com also has a similar list,  all sorted by states.

As to how many banks there are in the United States, answers.com has the answer as below. Give or take the changes, over 9000 in tatal! One must have never realized there are so many banks out there, healthy or not.

Although a sane mind won't even bother to think about, there should more payday loan, pawnbrokers or credit union loans type of financing business. The payday loan is legal and regulated only in 37 states though.

Collection of Digital Image Specialized Sites

pixiq is a site with news and technical reviews about digital images. Comparison resports between cameras of similar specification and by different manufactures are a good source for purchase reference.
dpreview.com has everything about digital cameras: digital photography review, news, reviews, forums and FAQ. Especially the reviews on almost all the famous models are fun and comprehensive to read. There are comprehensive comparisons between major camera models, with different parameters, such as ISO values, aperture and shutter speed. One will no doubt feel more comfortable in purchase of a camera after reading all related information.
Bob Atkins is a nice site with reviews, photo gallery of Canon products. Especially reviews on lens are very comprehensive and worth reading.
kurtmunger has plenty Sony alpha and NEX lens reviews
GANREF is a Japanese site with my interesting services. Review of lens (sharpness) are plotted with DxO Analyzer's「Blur」 format.
PhotoXP (the index page) has photos organized by Camera and lens. Although a site 100% Japanese and some of the photos without much "professional" composition, almost all of the photos have EXIF info., very good references for different parameters and their effects.
darwin wigget is a blog with amazingly beautiful pictures. One of it's post is a very interesting lens comparison with in-the-field test shots, between Sigma 120-400mm 4.5-5.6L APO HSM and Canon's 100-400 f4.5-5.6L, 70-200F4L and 300mm F4L.
popphoto.com also gives many reviews on lens, camera and accessories. Although the reviews are not very technical, they are compact and easy to understand. Its galleries is also a good place to look for beautiful pictures. Its blogs such as "state of the art" is a good place to look for creative photography.
digitalslrphoto.com specializes in SLR cameras and has many great reviews on DSLR/accessory reviews. No need to say, it also has a good collection of great photography works, nicely organized by categories. Its "Creative Eye" has many innovative photographies with lipstick, scissors, champagne, matchsticks, milk and balloons. The "Photo Challenge" offers a prize of over £10,000 for original digital SLR photography. It also has a free download for a free book "Making Money from Photography"
shashinlink has links to many photography specialized sites. It is well categorized and mostly are personal creations.
yuubi is another similar one. But this can submit one's own site information and ask to be registered to it.
photolink is another similar, but more focused on those by professionals. All of the 3 link sites are in Japanese.
The site of International Center of Photography has the information of current and past exhibitions, although not limited to digital ones at all. Even though only limited items displayed are present, it is still a rich gallery and text book (both history and technical) of master pieces of photography.
